Durham Radio Sales and Service Canada :: FRS GMRS :: Transceivers
GMRS is the new high power personal radio band in Canada. There is an overlap of the FRS and GMRS channels so you won't need to throw out your old FRS radios when buy the new GMRS radios.
Please note that you will find very inexpensive GMRS radios in the big box stores however many of the lower priced GMRS radios have limited range and power and will perform about as good as the average FRS radio. Currently, the maximum power allowed in Canada is 2 Watts. The lowest power radios are just one half of one Watt. Durham Radio has GMRS radios ranging in power from 0.5W to 2.0W.
