Durham Radio carries a wide selection of power supplies that can be used in a variety of applications including car stereos, two way radio equipment, CB and marine radios and much more. We have models ranging from just a few amps all the way up to 50 amps. Some models feature voltage and current meters. (This can be handy on the test bench but isn't really necessary for everyday use of a single radio.) All models feature overvoltage and overcurrent and thermal protection. We carry models by Alinco, Icom, Jetstream, MFJ, Pyle and Pyramid. Most of the higher amperage supplies come with a voltage meter, and/or an amperage meter. Alinco and Daiwa make small switching power supplies that are lightweight and have footprints about the size of a sheet of paper making them easily transportable! TECH TIP: As a general rule of thumb, it's better to by a power supply that can handle more current than your present needs. The benefits are twofold. First and foremost, you won't be taxing the power supply by constantly running it at it's limit. Secondly and just as important, it's a good idea to plan for your future needs. The bigger the shack, the more radios, the bigger power supply you will need.
