Icom R-5 handheld scanner provides wide frequency range (0.150 - 1309.995 MHz) covers vitually everything from AM broadcast to UHF TV audio. Every TV broadcast channel is pre-programmed into this receiver.

* 1250 Alphanumeric Memory Channels: Make up your own channel names for up to 1250 memory channels. The R5's LCD display allows you to use any combination of numbers and letters to customize your channel names and banks. ICOM's exclusive DMS (Dynamic Memory Scan) allows you to manage and customize the R5's memory banks the way you want!

* Convenient Power and Charging: You may power the R5 via the DC port, or by using either the supplied 2 "AA" rechargeable Ni-Cd batteries, or long life "AA" alkalines. The DC jack allows for simulanteous battery charging while operating the R5.

* Computer Programmable: With optional programming cable and software, programming the IC-R5 is a breeze. Hook your R5 up to a PC and your ready to customize channel names, scan lists, and more!

* The state-of-the-art Icom IC-R5 measures in at only 2.3 x 3.4 x 1.13 inches (58x86x27 mm) but it is absolutely packed with features.

* Built-in ferrite bar antenna for AM broadcast

* FM earphone cord antenna capability
DTCS and CTCSS tone squelch function
Offset monitor capability for semi-duplex operation monitoring
