HC-LP Heil Classic Professional Desk Mic From the Professional division of Heil Sound, Ltd., we present the CLASSIC PRO, a professional quality dynamic cardiod microphone designed for commercial broadcast, recording and live sound reinforcement applications which requires a smooth flat response over a wide frequency range. The CLASSIC PRO has a comparable sound to the finest condenser microphone because of it's wide frequency range, excellent transient response and low IMD. Truly a remarkable dynamic microphone, an exact reproduction of a 1930broadcast microphone and cast steelbase with that famous RCA stainless trim.

The CLASSIC PRO achieves it's exceptional performance by using a special magnet structure and a large aluminum 1 1/8" low mass voice coil assembly. Special attention has been paid to the phasing plug assembly with equally placed ports that sense audio from behind the source entering them out of phase thus producing a very linear cardioid pattern and reduces the proximity effect while achieving the extreme articulation across it's smooth 40 - 18,000 Hz frequency response. The cardioid pattern offers the greatest rejection at 180 degrees off axis which is directly behind the microphone and creates virtually no off-axis coloration while providing the greatest possible rejection of unwanted audio. An extensive sorbothane rubber shock mount - complete with breath blast filter was devised by Heil for minimum handling and breath noise. A 10' balanced line 'Heilwire' cable is terminated in a 3 pin male XLR connector.

The supplied base can be removed allowing this unique broadcast microphone to be suspended from the Heil PL-2 PROLINE balanced broadcast microphone boom. The cast aluminum name flag has two sides allowing you to have two sets of letters. One right side up and one side inverted when mounted on the boom. The small HEIL name plate can be inverted also. This is easily done by removing the two screws on the name flag and carefully removing the grill assembly, giving you access to the back of the name plate. Push it out from the body and invert.
