So how are the DT-200V and the DT-200VX the same? You get the same stylish black case, great reception, handy belt clip, a set of ear buds, and an external antenna. The legendary Sangean name remains on the unit along with the built-in-speaker, and a large LCD display, but that's about where it stops.
With the DT-200VX Sangean was looking to add a function or two to improve the radio without affecting reception quality so they added a clock, backlight, and deep bass boost. Sangean also made the case smaller and the LCD larger. They also integrated the speaker and headphone selector switch to the mono/stereo switch.As well they restructured the 19 memories to be used on any band and in any order, in addition to a memory seeking function.
