Please note that this scanner can be used with or without a GPS device. A GPS
is NOT included with the scanner. When a GPS is used to provide position data,
the BCD996T can provide automatic system selection, which permits the scanner
to turn system reception on or off depending on the user’s location. The
user can also set up the scanner's display to show information based on your
location such as dangerous intersections, school zones, or general points of
